This four song EP from a Bromley-based singer sounds pretty retro but is not without appeal. The tracks are well arranged, decked out with various instrumentation for a rich sound, even if it's often keyboard generated. The opening track, "When I Needed You", seems to draw from the Beatles' "Let It Be"; although its piano intro has a sugary, Disney feel, things get more interesting as the song develops and its range of instruments expands. As much as the vocals, the song is built around the relationship between piano and guitar, with the latter taking control later on for a smooth, vintage solo. Lemmie's vocals are strong and if he can escape from the restrictions of budget line production he could well make it to the next level.
