This album from 1985, catches Heard in effervescent creative mood, rocking out with the best of them. There are plenty of moments when this album sounds surprisingly like the T Bone Burnett music of that era, particularly the 'Trap Door' recordings. This could be because of the presence of Burnett sideman David Mansfield on guitar or indeed the contributions of Leslie Phillips on harmonies. From the jangling guitars on "All Is Not Lost" and "Schizophrenia" to the cover of Burnett's "Power Of Love" and the majesty of the closing track "Miracle", this works all the way. Produced by Heard in his own studio, there is no doubt that Mark was a genius and this album is one of his finer efforts.
