In the US Mark has enjoyed major CCM popularity as a purveyor of the "story song" - narrative numbers which sound like sermon illustrations. Many of the stories came from Mark's days as a youth pastor and from letters sent in by fans. However, on this album Schultz breaks from the pattern with songs seemingly aimed at the Casting Crowns/MercyMe audience though "Love Walked In" has a bit of the old story song formula. There is a bit of a Beatles tinge on one or two numbers and others make more than a nod to Nashville modern country while throughout his warm tenor draws the listener in. However, some tracks sound a tad overproduced and there simply isn't any song here with the emotional power of his old hits like "He's My Son" and "Letters From War".

Product Description
With his much-anticipated new studio project, Mark Schultz continues to create very personal songs that give voice to emotions we sometimes struggle to express on our own. Songs of encouragement, stories of hurt and healing, and an ever-present reliance on God continue to be unshakeable cornerstones of the music Schultz makes.
