This is the latest studio album from the American singer/songwriter who in the US is one of CCM's big stars. Here Mark appears to be in as good a form as ever. The catchy guitar-driven "Now That You've Come Into My Life" has hit single written all over it - up-tempo, upbeat and with a great hook. The singer/songwriter's versatility is demonstrated with the sublime ballad, "1,000 Miles" and this is also an excellent exhibition of Mark's vocal talents - in fact Mark's voice is superb throughout the whole album. It has a character to it that is smooth, warm, passionate and emotional. This is probably why he is able to draw you into the stories he tells in many of his songs and "Walking Her Home" is certainly no exception. Was there ever a better song written about spending your whole life with someone? I certainly can't think of one and I would be surprised if even the hardest of hearts would fail to be moved by it. In fact, this whole album is infused with stories that will stir you and with such a talent as Mark taking you on these journeys there is no better combination. Clearly, a man able to carry on CCM's tradition, once pioneered by Don Francisco, of moving story-songs.
