If ever there was a case of "it does exactly what it says on the tin" then this is it. The nationwide American ministry team Passion, headed up by Louie and Shelley Giglio, took a "worship and word" tour around US college campuses for a few months in late 2001. Worship Is Life was the theme, emphasising that a loud and lively praise-up is all well and good, but God ain't into one-night stands. He wants our every living, breathing moment as an offering of worship. Amen to that! This captures behind-the-scenes home-movie footage of the action, with soundbites and conversation aplenty from the key figures involved (the Giglios and lead worshippers Charlie Hall, Chris Tomlin and David Crowder). We get to see a day in the life of the tour, from 7am to 2am the next morning. Snippets from various journals and diaries are available by accessing a map of the States detailing every stop on the tour. Chuckle along too with a gag reel, much of which falls into the "you had to be there" category of funny (or maybe I'm just a humourless Brit). Actual footage of the worship is sparse, so I'm guessing there's another DVD available of the "show" itself. In fact, the stuff on offer on this disc is very much of the bonus material variety which one might expect on most live music DVDs; it makes me wonder (cynically) whether the folks at Sparrow Records are looking to fleece Passion fans of extra cash for a second DVD when a single, good value release would have done.
