After 4 very successful years with the Imperials, Paul Smith
goes solo; Russ Taff whom he replaced in 1982,
barely had 6 years with the group. The song that is
most memorable from this album is "Praisemaker";and
Paul once again showcases his talents in the song-
writing. CCM artist David Martin supplies the most
wondrous and beautiful song "Never be Another"; I
luv this song; the ending is not quite what I had
expected to hear though. David also lends a hand on
backing vocals for this song; and he also assists with the
writing of title song "Live and Learn".
The album was produced by Keith Thomas; known for
his work with several ccm artists; to include the well-
known Amy Grant. "A Holy Nation" is another song that is
worth mentioning; as well as the last song on side 2,
"Beautiful the Dreamer", another favorite of mine on the lp:
just luv this song! Paul's solo career didn't last super
long; he might have done better to
stay with the Imperials. But, you never know where the Hand
of GOD will lead. GOD Bless! -Don
