Paul has followed the release of two enjoyable CDs with this tape of standard classics of traditional Gospel. The artist's remarkable Jim Reeves-soundalike vocalising is well suited to this material avoiding pitfalls of over sentimentality and banality. You may well encounter Paul in Northern shopping centres; he's taken to setting up a stall in the streets, warbling a few familiar ditties, and shifting no end of albums this way. I can see how it works, cos here's a really strong deep voice to grab the attention and touch the heartstrings of the unwary shopper. Derek Jameson dubbed Paul "the new British country music singing sensation!" Which might affect you in one of several ways. No argument from me. Compile your own song list, you'll get it about right. A good album of its kind.
