Salvationist Publishing And Supplies have been releasing dozens of albums like this for years so why Nelson Word should give the big distribution push to these OK but hardly outstanding ensembles from Leighton Buzzard Citadel probably has something to do with casual record buyers who every Christmas go gooey-eyed and sentimental over Salvation Army bands. Not that there are any carols here. Instead, a large (20 tracks) selection of popular hymns ("In The Garden", "Abide With Me") and praise and worship choruses ("Shine Jesus Shine", "Such Love"). The sleeve exhorts us to "relax...be still...be musically edified". I'm afraid I failed to be.
