Many Christian communities like the Bruderhof's and the Northumbrian community, have at their heart one central aspect, lifestyle. Out of this commitment from the community of believers come many publications, rich and varied which in some way, help us to understand their particular stance. This publication is one such example where the preference is from Celtic spirituality. Celtic Night prayer contains prayers, stories and illustrations drawn from the Celtic Christian tradition. The source material is very old with some quite modern. The early Celtic saints (and those they taught to follow in similar well-trodden ways of prayer and courageous mission) have much to say to us in our generation and culture. The ancient and beautiful tradition of night prayer finds new expression in this collection of readings and simple liturgies. This little book may be used alongside Biblical meditation and is suitable for personal or group readings. Reading through this book, I have found it refreshing and meaningful in that the prayers and liturgies have helped me to concentrate my heart and mind in prayer. There is also an excellent daily readings section to guide you through the year. If you feel you would like to enter into peaceful and meaningful prayer times via traditional Celtic spirituality, this is for you.
