Thomas Dean, an Edinburgh-based worship pastor, claims to have been "bullied" by his pastor into recording this short sampler of his worship songs. You can quite quickly see what his wise pastor was thinking as Thomas' five tracks clearly show a heart for truth, a love for Scripture and an ear for a pleasing melody. The tracks all follow similar themes that clearly lie on Thomas' heart; his relationship with God, love for his fellow brothers and sisters and heart for mission and justice in his community. The tracks range from the more upbeat "Stars Ring Out" and "Ephesians 3" to the more intimate "Father's House" and "Broken As I Am". Thomas' voice is strong if not spectacular and he's aided by a very smooth production and reasonable contributions from musicians and backing singers. Hopefully Thomas' pastor will be bullying this Scottish songsmith into a full album in the future.

Good article on a recording I've been waiting to have so that I can carry these songs with me having enjoyed singing some of them already in worship gatherings. Looking forward to more from Thomas and his team. Rumour has it that Thomas is now bullying his Pastor into writing a book!
