Coming as it does from the epicentre of the dramatic surge of holy power that has touched churches and, of course, newspapers, across Europe, this recording may be expected to stand out as something very special. It certainly has some powerful moments, particularly in the second half, when the famous manifestations of immense supernatural power make themselves heard amongst the congregation and the band warms to its task admirably in response. The first few songs are, however, dogged by ordinariness in both writing and performance and the enthusiasm of the congregation seems for a while almost incongruous as an effect. This is all remedied, though, once the atmosphere has heated up and the passion of the assembled throng is reflected by the spirited performance of the worship leaders and musicians. The songs get better, too. Ultimately, however, it is the phenomenon of the Holy Spirit that makes this recording special, for it is only occasionally that the band, taken by itself, is significantly more remarkable than any 'normal' church worship group of a decent quality. Which, after all, is exactly what it is.
