Welsh hymnwriter Ruthie Thomas releases CD

A WELSH singer and songwriter, described by the Baptist Times as "the first black hymnwriter published in the UK," Ruthie Thomas, has released a seven-song CD. 'Heaven Direct' includes a new revival hymn for Wales, "The Cross Is Raised", which is now being sung by local churches and choirs while "The Song Of The Robin" is an Easter track for children which has been used in an educational programme on the BBC World Service. CR

I attend Local Craft Fayres where Ruthies CD is played. Her voice is amazing and so soothing to listen to. One local Market had the very fine honour of hearing her both on the CD and of Ruthie singing personally to them yesterday. I was even more enthralled to hear her sing to a~ Robin~ that perched on a Holly branch in our local Castle The Song of the Robin!! This lady has such talent, this CD should certainly be on everyones Christmas List

Heaven Direct is a amazing, inspiring and uplifting CD. The songs are written and performed by Ruthie Thomas, the first published black Hymn Writer in Britain. Her beautiful voice and insightful lyrics address issues we face in life. I am especially fond of "The Cross Is Raised" also named a song for Wales - this could easily be re-named a song for Britain and be adapted and sung across the nation. I highly recommend this CD :)
