In the reviews by fans you can read on the CD Baby website is one by Patrick Biggerstaff of Surrey, England, who describes this as "the best gospel soul I have heard for years." Such gushing praise makes me suggest that that famed etailer of CDs needs a far more impartial review system and that dear Mr Biggerstaff needs to get out more. For 'My Secret Place' is far from an R&B gospel classic with weak, cheap sounding programming and mid tempo songs that though generous in quantity (15 of them) blur one-into-another long before the end. What these deficiencies don't hide though is that Casper, from Oakland, California, has an excellent voice, exuding Luther Vandross-style emoting. With better songs and production he COULD make a classic.
