Musically this album is excellent, almost straying into a progressive rock feel in places, and Dave's voice is quite strong; if Neil Diamond and Yes ever do a collaboration album it might sound something like this! There's not a lot wrong with the content of the lyrics either, with a good, sound message, but the lyrics read more like poems than songs and when put together with the music don't gel very well. "A Christian Isn't" which sounds like a gospel tract or the first page of Journey Into Life or something, and "Open Heart" which sounds like a sermon set to music just don't work very well as songs, and almost border on being corny. From a ministry point of view though, it is clear that Dave has a real heart for getting a message across and the opening track, "Such Love Amazes Me" and "Walk With The One" are powerful songs about our relationship with God and are fine. Maybe this is where Dave's strengths lie.
