Another Right Price re-issue and another chance to hear just what an erratic singer Graham was (is?). Personally, I don't mind the concrete quality of his husky voice on these largely folk tinged songs while his lyric writing was profoundly powerful. "Peter At The Breaking Of The Bread" has all the same narrative power of the best Francisco while "John Smith" (no, nothing to do with our esteemed columnist) is a seering examination of human loneliness every bit as telling as "Eleanor Rigby" and 'Streets Of London". Shame they couldn't always keep the guitars in tune but I suppose that's what small budget meant back in 1976.
