Grab this quote from the newspapers. "Excitable young men and hysterical young women who mistake a quasi-religious revelry for Godliness." One of the vociferous critics of the March For Jesus putting the boot in? Well, not exactly. That quote came from an issue of the Worthing Gazette published in 1883 and the writer's indignation was directed at William Booth's Salvation Army who had the temerity to take praises of Christ and brass bands onto the streets. This fact is one of many in the fascinating chapter The Heritage Of The Unwalled Church' in praise master Graham's new book subtitled 'Celebrating Jesus On The Streets Of The World'. If you bought the 'March For Jesus' book (reviewed in CR15) presumably you won't want another about taking balloons, prayer and bold Jesus songs onto Britain's (and now the world's) streets, but this is a more comprehensive volume, with Graham, one of the founding fathers of March For Jesus International taking us through Why March?, Grassroots Beginnings, plenty of theology to reinforce the March's value and four Appendices (How To Plan A March, Planning A Schedule, Choosing A Route and Sound Amplification). Recommended to all Christian marchers.
