Despite my serious reservations regarding the Hollywood-esque glamour image that Hills Christian Life Centre actively promotes, happily, this live worship collection cuts through image and visual appearance admirably, There are many plusses here: Darlene Zschech (who has her regulation blonde hair and singing open mouth pictorially plastered everywhere) has thankfully limited her songs to just two, as they are the weakest of the set, and other songwriters at the fellowship have been given their big chance. They undoubtedly take it, and throughout a consistently strong arrangement, two new writers take the spoils. Guitarist Raymond Badham's "Feel Like I'm Falling" is a fast-paced gem with a hook-line from Heaven, and drummer Luke Munns' "Stay" is an outstanding achievement of opening melody rising to a chorus crescendo that most worship song writers can only dream of. The musicianship is top-notch to boot, and it all makes for an essential purchase. Give 'em another chance, Darlene!
