Good news for Johnny Cash fans, the man is back and in good voice! This is a 'live' studio recording with his great buddy Willie Nelson. Just the two of them with their guitars and a small and very appreciative 'live' studio audience. Not really a gospel album but it does make for some great listening as big John and Willie solo or combine on "Ghost Riders In The Sky", "Don't Take Your Guns To Town", "Crazy", "I Still Miss Someone", "Always On My Mind", "Folsom Prison Blues". It's got a good running time. Some fascinating reminiscences on how some of these classics came to be written. The one gospel highlight is Willie's outstanding "Family Bible", a song Willie sold for only a few dollars in the early '60s, as he was so poor. It became a smash hit of course.
