The eighth CD-ROM in Kingsway's 'New Songs' series certainly doesn't disappoint. This is a great resource for all worship leaders looking to inject some new life in to their worship times on a Sunday. The CD provides everything you could want, from music tabs for the guitar and keyboard, to the angelic voice of Lizzie Deane and the strong rock tones of Neil Wilson (yes, the ex-steve singer). This CD, the music from which can be played on either the computer or a normal stereo, quickly moves into a selection of songs you could worship God to. However, some of them seem more suited to the church than others. There is a combination of tracks, some of which you know worshippers would love to sing on a Sunday, and some that would be better enjoyed if you listened to them on your own at home. Having a mixture of styles though certainly makes this CD-ROM appealing to a wide variety of worship styles. It's hard to pick a favourite track when every song is strong and powerful in its own right. Two tracks that did stand out is Joel Houston's "God Above All The World" and "Jesus Has Rolled My Sins Away" written by David Middleton and James Middleton. The ever reliable Chris Bowater and American writer Mark Tedder have also added their contributions to the CD. Worship leaders would need to listen to the song lyrics, as well as study the music tabs, to determine which songs are more suited for their church. Over all, an eminently useful resource.
