Now on his third self-penned album the Californian musicianary continues to evolve. Gone are the more raw, guitar-based sounds of 'Phil Wickham' in favour of an array of synths to deliver layer upon layer of thick and keenly crafted pop-rock. Thankfully, the one thing that remains consistent throughout all of Wickham's offerings is his passionate, expressive vocals which soar over the well produced tracks revealing a lyrical depth and the honest emotional intensity of his writing that sets Wickham apart as, I think, one of the better young CCM singer/songwriters of the last few years. Many of the tracks here possess almost anthem-like qualities that wouldn't be out of place on a Coldplay or U2 record. However, it is hard to pick out high and low points here as the songs and performances showcase a powerful songsmith.
