The output from Californian singer/songwriter Phil Wickham just gets better and better. His fourth and latest release is a no-holds barred expression of Wickham's desire to glorify and connect with his God through 12 self-penned songs. Vocally, Wickham is a huge talent and has now outgrown previous comparisons to Bono and Jeff Buckley whilst his skill as a lyricist sees him bore into the very heart of matters in songs such as the thundering title track which portrays an honest relationship with God. Mention must go to producer Peter Kipley who has adeptly taken Wickham's work to the next level - not least the opener "Eden" which bursts into view in an explosion of vibrant sound setting the scene for an album that excels in every sense. In a release where every track is a highlight, the anthemic call to believers "The Time Is Now" stands out courtesy of an unforgettable melody, a stirring performance from Wickham and a delightful cameo from the London Symphony Orchestra and would be reason enough to buy this album were it not for 11 other equally great songs. 'Heaven & Earth' is a thrill from start to finish and will hopefully be a springboard for the gifted Wickham to achieve even greater things.
