Here is an instrumental album that you definitely need to allow to grow on you. At first glance it features an odd mix of worship songs that are mainly either well worn chestnuts or fresh gems that churches are currently discovering. Many of the former are close to 25 years old and include "When The Spirit Of The Lord", Graham Kendrick's "One Shall Tell Another" and Ishmael's "Father God I Wonder". Such songs with their Yiddish style tunes are ideal material for toe tapping string-based instrumentals and, to his credit, violinist Steve Morris breathes new life into tunes that have been rather over used in many congregations. The brand new material includes Steven Curtis Chapman's "Much Of You" and Matt Redman's "Father's Song". For these more modern worship songs the arrangements take on a more reflective Celtic character. With veteran producer Christopher Norton involved in the arrangements and overall production you can expect a high quality album and happily he does not disappoint. As an added bonus all the lyrics are included in the sleevenotes just in case you want to sing anew those old songs you loved in days gone by.
