Another large dollop of black gospel medicine, recorded live at three locations. The entire enterprise is powered along by gospel superstar Kee's almost overwhelming enthusiasm for a tense, driving, aggressive brand of the music which is not say that it's all fast paced, but rather that there's always a gripping tightness and intensity. Some of this music flows along slowly, aching and throbbing like the pioneering work of some of the great creators. The original Staple Singers and those glorious old quartets would have felt right at home. Did you ever hear the legendary Abyssinian Gospel Choir 'Shakin' The Rafters' album? This approaches that marvellous set's raw, roof-raising power, specially on a track like "Saved" where Kee's merciless vocal shakes every last drop of emotion from the song. Some album this, there are gentler moments as with "You Know What's Best" but generally the excitement level's turned way up high.
