Despite the long artist moniker, the “wow!” moments that define a gospel record and give it credibility are all almost completely missing. The instrumentation is nothing special and the choir is nothing out of the ordinary. Some songs could be done just as well on a synthesizer keyboard with a “choir” setting. If not for the sheer volume of the mass choir, I would put this album into the MOR/soft pop section of the reviews. I don’t really understand ‘The Power Of Worship’ title of this disc. There is some praise on the CD and a few moments of worship but there is not a lot to indicate the “power” of worship other than the worshipful and prayerful outro track “Alter Call”. On a brighter note, the gosepl star John P Kee does just enough to save it from me turning it into a coaster. Also saving the day are the last five tracks on the album, which are easily the best. “The Blood” is a touching number about the blood of Jesus. “The Righteousness” gives needed variety to ‘The Power Of Worship’ and “Winner (dance mix)” holds up the album with a little spice. “I Am Blessed” has some nice featured vocals by John P Kee that even out the end of the album. On a whole, there is nothing so great here that would make you jump up and down in anticipation of its release.
