Can you get Johnny Cash narrating the old testament? If not what do you recommend? I love listening to Johnny Cash read the bible.

This is great news.I have this on cassette and Johnnny's voice reading scripture is a natural.
I am a big fan of johnny and in particular his gospel music.I have been looking for an album called I Believe which is now out of print and was wondering if by chance you might have it?

I was looking around to see if anyone was discussing the new Cash set - Johnny Cash: Chapter & Verse. I'm a big fan of his Gospel music, and this new set really caught my eye. I'll tell you what I've come across on it.

First of all, I had no idea that Johnny recorded the New Testament of the Holy Bible. I'm pretty sure this set is the New King James Version.

Its a 2 disc set - (1) DVD and (1) Audio CD. from a company called Bibles On DVD. I went to their site www.biblesondvd.com and it looks like they put the audio narration of the bible with text on screen that is synchronized. So basically you watch the DVD and what you see on screen is an open book with the scripture that is synchronized to the audio narration. When he gets to the end of the page, it turns automatically. I never thought Johnny Cash would read the Bible to me... his voice is just so perfect for this application. Oh yea, and there is a Holy Land Photo Tour – which they are calling “Walking the Bible” (cute).

Anyway, the set also comes with a CD of 14 Gospel Songs. I'm pretty sure these songs never appeared on a CD all together before. Here is the track list...

I haven’t seen it in stores yet, just caught a commercial on TV, and I ordered it. Its fantastic! What a great Christmas Gift... I think I'll be ordering a few more sets as gifts. Pick it up friends, you wont be disappointed.
