Instrumental jazz albums of choruses are normally cheesier than Admiral Cummings' socks or so sweet they should contain a health warning from your dentist. With 'Reflections', your dentist will sleep well at night (not to mention Mrs Cummings) because featured keyboard player and producer Nick Coetzee has enlisted the help from, amongst others, the seemingly omnipresent Laboriel, Acuna, Thompson and Almario (don't these guys ever sleep or have homes to go to?) to wrap their musical talent around a selection of the latest Integrity tunes. So the whole album is seriously laid (aaaaaarrrrhhhhhhhhh!) back with some excellent late night jazz executed and ready to give you an environment to reflect or relax. I discovered that it's actually very good for slow dancing and cuddling but that's an altogether different story. Ahem, not quite what the makers intended I'm sure, but you get the picture! I mean, you can guess that it sounds mellow, beautiful and is exquisitely performed.
