'Glad To Be Alive' offers 12 rock-based worship songs and is part of an ambitious series of CD releases from the Bolton-based artist which cover a wide range of music styles and even takes in a book of poetry. This particular album is billed as rock-based praise and worship and it certainly lives up to this. The songs are well balanced and while they are a little clichéd in the lyrics and sounds, overall, they hang together well. There are more than a few prog rock touches in a musical approach and the observant listener may hear touches of Yes, Asia and even Rush in the arrangements. It is debatable whether many of these songs are suitable for corporate worship but there is a sense of heartfelt worship conveyed on the album. Money from every sale will go to charity, so this is a release well worth supporting.
