US pianist, singer, songwriter and producer Don is, of course, a veritable veteran of the CCM scene with over 20 albums under his belt. This collection of worship songs feature some self-penned numbers as well as well known songs such as Hillsong's "Mighty To Save". I'll be frank, this song is the high point of the album. The first two numbers are a gentle introduction, in spite of the clumsy chorus in "Hail To The King" (that's a criticism of the song, rather than Don's version of it) before it really starts to get going with the aforementioned classic. A spirited up-tempo composition of Don's "Thank God I'm Free" follows before the album winds back down again into a collection of MOR-styled worship songs. To be honest, I couldn't get excited by the rest of it, it just feels too mediocre. It's all fantastically put together and arranged but one couldn't shake off the feeling that we've heard it all before.
