I’d always rated Paul Field’s children’s songs so I was a little disappointed that the CCM veteran didn’t contribute any of his catchy ditties on this set. But he did produce and programme it, giving a bright and often witty vibe to this batch of kids’ songs from the pens of John Hardwick, Dave Godfrey, Nick Harding and several others. I particularly like Kristyn Lennox’s and Keith Getty’s “He Is My Light” while “Splodge Me A Colour” by Andy Gawn is a lot of fun. If your kids enjoyed their time at Skegness or Minehead, here’s an album carrying no little spiritual weight with which they can relive the Spring Harvest fun.
