The rather haphazard repackaging of material from the Homecoming Friends series of CDs and videos has done few favours for long term devotees of the Southern gospel phenomenon, but having said that this compilation of vids is fairly representative of the series featuring 20 performances, the oldest being Rex Nelon and Ben Spears' rendition of "Turn Your Radio On" from 1995 and the latest being Gaither Vocal Band's version of "Knowing You'll Be There" filmed in Australia in 2003. Highlights include class MOR vocalist Cynthia Clawson, the always reliable Russ Taff (his version of "Praise The Lord" from 'New Orleans Homecoming' is truly joyful) and the old time hand clapper "It's Shouting Time In Heaven" by The Hoppers. If you've got Southern gospel in your blood, you'll enjoy at least some of these performances.
