20 more vids from the ever popular Homecoming Friends series, this is a reasonable place to start if you want to investigate the wide ranging musics covered by the phrase "Southern gospel". On the one end you have straight country gospel with a bluegrass tinge from Jeff & Sheri Easter. At the other, this DVD offers the hymnody of "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" (sung here by a makeshift group of Terry Blackwood, Mel Tunney, Tanya Goodman Sykes, Larry Ford and David Phelps). Sometimes there is precious little musical connection to the original Southern gospel sound (Ray Boltz' MOR balladry) and on other occasions like the Gaither Vocal Band and The Martins the style here is still reasonably authentic. If you missed the original videos you might want this compilation.
