Gaither Music Group's handling of their archive material has been pretty poor on the whole. Take this compilation from 2003. On the surface this seems to be a reasonable selection of Homecoming Friends recordings with such artists as The Martins, The Gaither Vocal Band, Armond Morales (the veteran from The Imperials) and such deceased Southern gospel giants as Brock Speer and George Younce. But the recordings here made between 1992 and 2000 are assembled with little or no musical continuity while the black gospel artists featured (Lynda Randle, Larnelle Harris and Jessy Dixon) sometimes sound out of place amongst all the cornball bonhomie. The CD booklet with all the pages in the wrong order only reinforces the sense of shoddy packaging.
