In reviewing this album I'm conscious that it will probably be an automatic entry into the Praise & Worship chart. Recorded in Anaheim, the first six songs are led by VCF Anaheim and the other six by VCF Kelowna, BC, Canada, totalling 70 minutes. I like the lyrics and guitar on "Crowns Down" ("We will seek no earthly titles... We lay our crowns down."). I was also moved by the spoken prayer at the end of the title track. There is always excellent musicianship and variety of arrangements. I feel that, for this series to continue its impact, it's got to improve. Words and music often seem to have been heard before. Though more of a minor point, I would also like, where appropriate, for there to be a scripture reference with the song titles on the leeve. I've not seen a Cross Rhythms article about Vineyard Music Group and would be interested to read more about the creation of these recordings. Even my limited experience of hearing excellent unpublished UK p&w songwriters suggests that it would be good for a record company to invite songs for album recording for widespread use, rather than just in the locality of the writer. Sorry, Vineyard and Kingsway, I believe that there are unpublished songs out there which are much better than TTFH 21.
