Our friends at Calvary Chapel, finally realising that even the most productive cow can only be milked so often, have at last called it a day with the longest-running -album-series-in-praise-and-worship-history. This fifteenth 'Praise' volume is subtitled The Finale!' Ironically, far from running out of creative steam, the Praise albums have in recent years risen to new heights, dropping the conveyor-belt muzak leanings that clogged some of the earlier volumes in favour of classy instrumental arrangements from John Schreiner. They feature a bevy of top CCM session musos and vocal arrangements which usually have a quality lead voice (on this set the singers include Rita Baloche, Kelly Willard and the wonderful blue-eyed soul man Denny Correll). Songs are good to excellent, be it the lovely new "Sing To The Lord (With All Your Heart)" through to a superlative new arrangement of "He Has Made Me Glad (I Will Enter His Gates)". The only mediocre song is "Earnestly I Seek You". A fine praise album, well worth choosing even if you don't have the other 14 volumes!
