Is it the gormless-looking lion on the insert, or the fact that so many songs sound as if they're about to turn into "Home, Sweet Home", which has me thinking of golden syrup on the childhood breakfast table? "You're all that I ever wanted/You're all that I ever need..," drools the opening vocalist, and so it goes on: new songs, yes, but following the old recipe for highly-refined Christian spread-music. Harmless enough in itself, but after 14 tracks I feel faintly nauseous. Somewhere there is a factory producing millions of tins of this stuff. What has happened to CCM that this canned spiritual smooch can be passed off as Christian "praise"? Should come with a health warning.
