The music for 1995s American March For Jesus has been produced by Maranatha in the US, features a host of top class session players and singers and has a strong black gospel influence. The album is split into two sections - praise for the march and worship for the prayer rally. What makes this release special is the multi-cultural nature of the music. You start with the stupendous gospel funk power of "Blessed Be The King" with the powerful choir and driving rhythms just to get you off marching! There's a Latin interpretation of "Lord I Lift Your Name On High" I swear that you can rhumba to it! Try that in your church and see what your pastor says. The musical styles are varied with plenty of chance to holler and respond and have fun which is exactly how it should be. Chris Falson's "We've Come Here To Praise" is given the full R&B treatment by Rick Riso complete with huge choir and big horns! There's even a call and response rap prayer! Awesome! After the march section, the more reflective worship songs bring you into the sweet presence of the Saviour. Then start it all over again and really rejoice!
