Not having kids or ever having done any children's work I decided to give this one to Sue Brown, a full time children's worker who frequently teaches RE lessons in local schools. Here's what she had to say about it. 'Madame Blueberry' is the latest of Big Idea's transfer of the Veggie Tales' classics to DVD from the old video format. It is the story of a blueberry who is desperate to "keep up with the Jones'" by getting more and more things. The opening of "Stuff-Mart" seems the answer to Madame Blueberry's dreams but she soon learns the important lesson of being thankful for what she has - whether that is a lot or a little. The re-make of this Veggie Tales classic has the usual high quality graphics and catchy songs. Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are as funny as ever and the opening and closing sections help to bring the message to a level that children will understand and relate to. 'Madame Blueberry' is one of the best Veggie Tales productions that I have seen and provides a powerful message for children and adults alike. The story is packed with jokes for all ages and the addition of "Love Songs With Mr Lund" (replacing "Silly Songs With Larry") adds to the fun. Amongst other things, the DVD includes bonus karaoke tracks for two of the songs from 'Madame Blueberry', colouring pages and a step by step guide on how to draw some of the Veggie Tales characters. All in all this is a must see Veggie Tales production.
