The extraordinary remarks came in a document from Wilton Park, a foreign affairs discussion organisation, tied to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The government plans to allow individuals to self-determine their gender, by removing the requirement to have lived for two years as their desired gender before acquiring a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC). In a consulation set to be published this autumn it also plans to 'demedicalise' gender identity, by removing the need to be diagnosed with 'gender dysphoria' before applying to 'change' gender.

The Barnabas Fund has highlighted that a report by Wilton Park (an executive agency of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office) urges reinterpretation of Scripture and the imposition of LGBTI ideology on evangelical Christians in the Global South. The report describes biblical sexual morality has 'hateful' and evangelical Christians in prejudicial terms.

New polling published this week reveals that more than half of the public (54%) think that using the word ‘extreme’ is not helpful when discussing political and social opinions. CARE, alongside a coalition of other Christian organisations, commissioned ComRes to carry out the research which also highlighted that there was no firm basis against which to judge assertions that a particular view is extreme.

Hundreds of vulnerable patients are being killed in the Netherlands without giving clear consent, it has been revealed. ‘Strict protective guidelines’ supposed to protect vulnerable and elderly patients from being killed against their will are being flouted, leading to the deaths of 431 people in 2015, none of whom gave clear consent.

A new HIV prevention drug will be provided by the NHS from September. Pre-exposure prophylaxis, also known as PrEP will be made available to sexual health clinics across the UK. In an initial 3 year trial a minimum of 10,000 individuals will be offered the drug.

Men who identify as women should be given womb transplants, so that they can have children, leading NHS doctors have claimed. Fertility experts even claimed that taxpayers should fund these transplants on the basis of 'equality enshrined in law'. It could even lead to homosexual men demanding womb transplants.

German MPs have voted to redefine marriage as "entered into for life by two people of different or the same sex". The bill passed by 393 to 226 after Chancellor Angela Merkel, who herself believes marriage is between a man and a woman, allowed a free vote on the issue.

Over half of self-identifying Anglicans in the UK support same-sex relationships, and almost three quarters believe that sex is permissible outside of marriage, a new British Social Attitudes survey has found. The stance on homosexuality has become more liberal, with only 31% saying they agreed with same-sex relationships in 2012.

The new disability champion role at the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has been abolished, as the board decided the role was no longer required. Lord Shinkwin, whose 'We're all equal' campaign advocates for bringing the legal limit for disability abortion down to 24 weeks, in line with that for healthy children, was set to fill the post and is demanding that it be reinstated.

The British Medical Association voted in favour of decriminalising abortion this week. The vote at the BMA's annual meeting means that the organisation will adopt a radical pro-abortion stance as its official policy and lobby the government to remove all legal restrictions on abortion.
