A two CD box set put together by our friends at ICC this unfortunately fails dismally to do justice to Britain’s most significant Bible week. For a start the sleeve is poor and the booklet contains no essay chronicling the event’s history and its huge contribution to the evolution of British worship music. Secondly, despite the title, this compilation sports no recordings from those early years, presumably because they were made for another record company. On the plus side, there is a wedge of fine worship leaders (though here again they’re uncredited) and a pile of truly timeless worship songs from Matt Redman’s “Friend Of Sinners” to Stuart Townend’s “In Christ Alone” – the badly executed package make this a compilation for only the most passionate Spring Harvest devotee.
