I'm very pleased to see that ICC and Spring Harvest take kids' praise music seriously, and have been prepared to devote time, energy and cash to make it as good as they possibly can. This is the latest manifestation of the genre, and Pat Bilbrough, Dave's good lady, has been charged with keeping the kiddiewinkers in tune, which, as an ensemble, they generally manage to achieve (although some of the soloists are badly off key). The songs themselves are not patronising, they home in on easily understandable Christian truth, and the musicians, including sax and woodwind maestro Mike Haughton, lay down a good solid instrumental base. Best of all, the songs should be well within the scope of even the most musically compromised, and a songbook is available. A good resource for Sunday Schools and junior church groups.
