The Big Start is an all age worship service at Spring Harvest, inviting participation from all family members at all ages. As you would expect, the challenge to present tunes that appeal to all is a difficult one, which the album does achieve, but at the cost of getting close to bland at times. Popular worship songs are featured such as "Friend Of God" (Michael Gungor and Israel Houghton),"Father God, I Wonder" (Ishmael) and the childlike lyrics of "Jesus Is My Best Friend" (Vicky Beeching and Wendy Beech-Ward). There is also a gospel mix of "What About Love" (Judy MacKenzie-Dunn). The album delivers what is required: a good value collection of songs for parents to bring home from the event, but no new ground is being explored here.
