Spring Harvest has been one of the forerunners in providing resources for children's workers in churches across the land. This collection brings together releases that tie in with each yearly Easter gathering. Writers include Doug Horley, Simon Perry and Nick and Becky Drake. What is evident listening to the collection is how quickly such songs age. This is demonstrated with the opening track, Martin Smith's "I've Found Jesus" which sounds very dated, and maybe not the greatest recording with which o open this three CD collection. That said, there are great songs here, I especially enjoyed "Celebrate God" (Damien Herbert) and "All Through History" (Becky Drake). My other main concern is the given age range for the collection, five to 11, which is a broad age group for music. I suggest that many 11 year olds would struggle to enjoy songs aimed at the other end of the spectrum, especially as many of the songs feature very young voices as well as adult voices. I suspect this will prove useful more as a collection to pull certain songs from and not one to be played from start to finish.
