I liked the beginning - God's power, portrayed by a 'modern worship band' sound bursting through a slow and out of tune piano sound - presumably the weak and 'on the defensive' church. The album continued to grow on me. Initially, my reaction was that the whole thing seemed rather measured and over-precise. I suppose that is one of the problems with simulated worship albums. All of the songs and links are very accurately done, but I wish the vocals and also the drums could have been a little less clinical somehow; which would have given the whole tape more excitement and drive. Having said that, the choice of songs is very good - they all have powerful words and link well together thematically. "God Is Good" seems to have .rather inadventurous drums, but the lead guitar break is good. I'd like to have heard more certainty from the sax in "He Walked Where I Walk". All in all though, there are some excellent and anointed songs on here, good lead guitar throughout and I liked the choice of spoken voice-overs, though again done a little too carefully. This album is worth getting into - I'll be listening to it again.
