From Vineyard's founding church in Anaheim, CA, comes this collection of 12 new worship songs. California's laidback reputation is certainly in evidence - especially when compared to the edgier tones of Vineyard UK. Yet instead of being plodding/boring, this is a fairly winsome set of tunes. Out of the six worship writers/leaders aired, most are young and relatively unknown. There's a spiritual yearning to some pieces, but only Cindy Rethmeier's "Remember" is likely to become a hot favourite. Other tunes are reflective and appealing (eg, Larry Hampton's "More Than Anything"), but not highly impressive - save the raw, stripped down passion of Jeremy Riddle's two cuts (definitely a name to watch for), which remind me of output from Jason Upton or Ireland's Eoghan Heaslip. Ultimately, this is a fine and genuinely worshipful collection.
