I nearly ran screaming from the room when vocals came in on the first track! The pure piping voices put me in mind of the summer camp scene in Addams Family Values! However, after a few minutes I sighed with relief. Having just reviewed the 'Change My Heart Oh God' for 'grown ups' the contrast was incredible. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce the arranging skills of Brian Green. His programming of the tracks is original and inspired. It must be that adults are far more tolerant than kids, so the '-For Kids' has to be better to keep them interested, and is it ever! I'm presently typing in tempo with the tabla on "We Exalt Your Name". I lent the CD to our youth ministry leader for her opinion. Her comments were that some of the songs might be a little hard for the very youngest, but otherwise great as a sing along for teaching new songs - and can she have it back, please? Any worship leader looking to spice up their arrangements wants this version as it is far more original and exciting than the rather sanitized 'adult version'. All we need now is for Brian to be let loose to arrange and produce the more mainstream Vineyard Worship. All power to his keyboard!
