One would have thought that at 36 volumes, Vineyard's 'Touching The Father's Heart' series was way past its sell-by-date. That it seems to be going from strength to strength, after a very dodgy period in the mid-teens, is mainly due to the new generation of Vineyard songwriters who have taken over from the pioneers who put Vineyard music on its feet in the '80s. This 15 track, 70 minute mega value CD is a showcase for Terry Butler of the Pomona Vineyard of Claremount, California and VCF's answer to Darlene Zschech, the equally talented Cindy Rethmeier, and songs from both, including one they wrote together, feature heavily on the track list. The music is typically Vineyard, straight to the point, Scripturally based, immaculately sung and played; the slower songs create a good worshipful atmosphere, and the up tempo praisers get the feet tapping and the hands raising. One of the better p&w albums I've heard lately
