Vol 2 is the only disc in the four-CD series to stem from this side of the Atlantic. Featuring eight fine worship songs (taken mainly from those brilliant early Vineyard UK albums), it's led by Michael and Helen Frye (writers of "Be The Centre" and "Who Is This", which both get retreated here) and a couple of others. It's a thoroughly stripped-down acoustic set, but I'm afraid it doesn't work nearly as well as Vol 1, largely due to lack of variety in song selection. For instance, I'm not convinced that the opener, Brenton Brown's anthemic "Holy", works well in this gentler format. The other songs tend to plod on at the same lifeless pace and it all quickly becomes rather tedious and uninspiring. In fact I found it hard to listen to the whole set, despite it being only 39 minutes long. As a house group aid, it might prove helpful - but would work best in conjunction with other recordings such as Vol 1 in this series.
