As a lover of compilation albums, always wanting to get value for many, I was expecting a treat when asked to step in for the usual reviewer. Having listened to it I can say that with the exception of a couple of tracks which I felt didn't quite make it, it was a good listen and in places inspirational. I didn't know all the songs, but of the ones that were new to me I was particularly moved by track eight, "Holy Is The Lord On High", lifting my spirit to praise (difficult on a Monday). Interesting vocal arrangements on "You Are The Vine" and the up tempo treatment of "Lord We Praise You" all impressed. Particularly the drumming on the latter. A great album for easy listening or quiet worship, if you make allowances for some American accents and phrasing on occasions. The only problem that I have with this and others like it is that many churches don't have the musical expertise to get anywhere near this. I hope that it doesn't raise unrealistic expectations on poor musicians doing their best in churches up and down the country.
