"YES!" I thought. This could be THE worship album of the year -a recent live and unedited recording from the Airport Vineyard in Toronto, home of the so-called Toronto Blessing. The track list is promising, some evergreens from Kevin Prosch and Brian Doerksen and a few new songs from British Columbia Vineyard's David Ruis. Unfortunately the singing is a little forced to begin with, the leader (I think it's Jeremy Sinott from Toronto) displaying either poor vocal technique or simply a lack of stamina. Seldom has a singer gasped so much for breath as he does with "A-ha-ha-ley-loo-hoo-yah"! However, the worship really seems to take off with Brian Doerksen's "Will You Worship", an absolute must for any worship repertoire and there's also a beautiful spontaneous song and some inspired guitar solos. It's a shame that the band sometimes gets faded back into a mushy blur and the abundance of natural reverb makes you wonder if it was recorded in an aircraft hangar! In all a good live worship album, but for me not a great one to rival the best of the Touching The Father's Heart' studio series.
