Love them or hate them, the Gaithers remain extraordinarily prolific and they continue to prove ever popular amongst church-goers of a certain age. I don't think this DVD, a collection of 20 gospel songs sung around the campfire, is going to create new fans for them, but I can imagine that it will be treasured wholeheartedly by existing fans. One of the reasons for this is that, amongst the slick arrangements and versions of many gospel classics such as "Lead Me To The Rock" and "I Have Found A Way", there are some fun-filled video montages of people clearly enjoying themselves which gives this DVD a genuineness that it otherwise wouldn't have had. There is a plethora of guest artists such as Lynda Randle, The Hoppers and The Isaacs and one has to marvel at the technical expertise required to fit everybody in, especially in an environment that is essentially in the round. The Homecoming Friends ball keeps on rolling and it shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.
